We tasted 6 recipes this month.
Barbara used Anne Burrell-Own Your Kitchen.
Zucchini Quick Bread on page 139: easy to follow recipe, not expensive and taste was GOOD. I found it to be a bit to sweet for my taste and not necessarily quick- you have to chop the nuts, zest and juice the lemon and grate the zucchini.
I also used the Family Cookbook.
Spinach Ricotta Cannelloni: easy to follow recipe, expensive and taste was NOTHING SPECIAL. the cheese was $20.00 a pound and filling the tubes was hard.
Eggplant Stuffed with Goat Cheese, Pine Nuts and Apricots: easy to follow recipe, expensive and taste was NOTHING SPECIAL. Too many ingredients that clashed with each other.
I like this book and am thinking of purchasing it. It has a picture of each recipe and and covers recipes from newborns to adults. The only drawback is that a lot of the recipe measurements are in ounces, which means I would have to purchase ascale.
Ruby used The Brooklyn Cookbook.
Dee Dee Dailey's Pigeon Peas and Rice: easy to follow recipe, not expensive and tase was GOOD.
Oatmeal Cookies: easy to follow recipe, not expensive and taste was VERY GOOD.
Ruby also used Casseroles for a Crowd.
Sweet Potato Casserole: easy to follow recipe, not expensive and taste was WOW.
